Strategic Communications Specialist

Ellos Global (E|G) is looking to fill an opening for a Strategic Communications Specialist.  The candidate must be a highly motivated, detailed, results-driven individual, who works collaboratively with staff of all levels throughout the organization. This person should be a creative and outside of the box strategic thinker, a team player who can cooperatively and enthusiastically switch between responsibilities at times in a moment’s notice. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with federal clients and teammates to create comprehensive, measurable scalable communications plans for a variety of campaigns around strategic programs and initiatives.

  • Assist with messaging the organizations strategic vision and mission through marketing and communications.

  • Assess current communication mediums and tools, and provide recommendations on better methods to meet the latest and greatest industry standards. 

  • Establish relationships with Leadership, the Sub-Divisions and Branches to serve as a strategic partner and guide leadership on effective marketing and communications.

  • Manage meeting and event(s) strategy and coordination of activities; pull together leadership topics, agenda(s) and presentations.

  • Work with Leadership and the Employee Engagement Team to develop effective communication-driven surveys and focus groups.

  • Develop and design all phases of assigned projects from initial concept through final production including proofing, file preparation and distribution. Projects include, but are not limited to, advertisements, brochures, marketing collateral, proposal graphics, presentations, logos, newsletters, flyers, reports, invitations, website.

  • Draft, edit, finalize and distribute a variety of communications deliverables, to include e-mail messaging, slick sheets, tutorial documentation, governance documentation, video scripts.

  • Conduct regular engagements with federal clients to identify pain points, communications needs, creative opportunities, and creative solutions to drive organizational change.

  • Conduct regular internal and external review sessions for all communications and design deliverables.

 

Additional Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

  • Exceptional level of written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Preferred experience crafting email campaigns in GovDelivery, MailChimp, or similar

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, SharePoint and Microsoft Office

  • Experience designing and developing a variety of content for both print and digital formats 

  • Self-starter, motivated, confident and has ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Reliable business judgment and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and client focused skills— interacts well with all levels of staff and partners with a positive and enthusiastic attitude

  • Results-oriented with high expectations for quality, accuracy, attention to detail and overall excellence.

  • Expert-level proficiency in grammar, plain language, and identifying appropriate communication styles (based on audience)

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Experience facilitating creative branding sessions

  • Experience working with Federal space.

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.

  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff.

  • Demonstrates proactive approaches to problem solving with strong decision-making capability.

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

  • Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

 

MUST be a US Citizen, eligible to obtain security clearance; current DHS suitability preferred.

Education:  

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Communications, Public Affairs or related field; and 5 plus years of related experience. ​
